1 Who we are
BabyTees (BabyTees LTD) runs babytees.co.uk. We’re the “data controller” for your personal information, which means we decide how it’s used and we’re responsible for looking after it under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
2 What we collect
Information you give us:
- Order details: your name, delivery and billing address, email address and phone number.
- Personalisation details: the names, ages, dates, text and designs you add to your order.
- Photos and artwork: anything you upload in our customiser or send us for a custom design.
- Messages: what you send us by WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, email or our contact form.
- Account details: if you create an account, your login details and order history.
Information collected automatically:
- Basic technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit. This helps keep the site working and secure, for example stopping people from guessing custom order codes.
Payment details: your card details go straight to our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
3 Your photos & custom designs
We understand the photos you send us are often of your children and family, so we treat them with extra care.
- We only use your photos and personal details to create, print and check your order.
- Only the people making your order can see them.
- We will never post your photos or designs on our website or social media unless you’ve clearly said yes first.
- You can ask us to delete your photos at any time, including before your order is finished.
4 How we use your information
We only use your information when the law allows us to. Here’s what we use it for and why:
- To make and deliver your order, including sending you design previews, order updates and tracking. Reason: to carry out our contract with you.
- To reply to your messages and handle returns, reprints or problems. Reason: contract, and our legitimate interest in helping our customers.
- To keep records for tax and accounting. Reason: legal obligation.
- To keep our website safe and working properly. Reason: legitimate interest.
- To send you offers or news, only if you’ve signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time. Reason: your consent.
5 Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only share what’s needed with trusted services that help us run the shop:
- Payment providers: [YOUR PAYMENT PROVIDER] for card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments, and Klarna if you choose to pay with Klarna.
- Royal Mail: your name and address, to deliver your order.
- Our website hosting and security services, which store and protect the site, including Cloudflare.
- Meta (WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook): when you choose to message us there.
- Trustpilot: if you’re invited to leave a review, your name, email and order reference may be shared so you can review us.
- Analytics: [YOUR ANALYTICS TOOL] to understand how people use our site.
Some of these services may store data outside the UK. When they do, they use approved legal safeguards to protect it. We may also share information if the law requires us to.
6 Cookies
Cookies are small files saved on your device. We use:
- Essential cookies that keep your basket, checkout and account working. The site can’t work without these.
- Analytics and marketing cookies, only if you agree to them in our cookie banner.
You can change or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings.
7 How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: 6 years, because UK tax law requires it.
- Photos and artwork you upload: [90 DAYS] after your order is delivered, so we can help with any reprint or problem. Then we delete them.
- Messages: as long as needed to help you, then deleted.
- Your account: until you ask us to close it.
- Marketing emails: until you unsubscribe.
8 Keeping your information safe
Our website uses a secure connection (HTTPS), payments are handled by secure payment providers, and only the people who need your information to make your order can see it. No website is 100% secure, but we take care to protect your information and will tell you and the ICO if a serious problem ever happens.
9 Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- See the information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that’s wrong.
- Delete your information, unless we have to keep it by law.
- Limit or object to how we use it.
- Get a copy to take somewhere else.
- Withdraw your consent at any time, for example to marketing emails.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. It’s free, and we’ll reply within one month.
10 Children
Our products are made for babies and children, but our website is for adults to use. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Any details about a child, such as a name, age or photo, are provided by a parent or other adult for their order, and we only use them to make that order.
11 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
